The Project

The purpose of the project is to open Go for a broader public and establish it as part of general education in Saxony, Germany and Europe.

In doing so the vast benefits of Go shall be used to contribute a positive developement in society. Starting point shall be the individual with his or her personal preconditions (knowledge, skill, attitude). In the sense of holistic education Go studies and activities shall promote personal, social and professional competences. This enhanced individual potential is going to have a positive effect on society (bearing social responsibility, handling of problems and conflicts etc.), economy (communication and leadership competence, working behaviour and attitude etc.) and democracy (critical reflection, maturity etc.).

Goals and Emphasis

The fields of activity for realizing the project purpose are derived from the following five main emphases:

  1. Increasing the general familiarity of Go together with an engaging image (fascinating game, social togetherness, personal development, mind sport, logic / mathematics, asian culture)
  2. Development and support of local Go-bases in Saxony, Germany and Europe
  3. Conceiving, evaluating and further developing a Go-teachers training program, continuing education and materials
  4. Creating and maintaining a Go-teachers training and continuing educational program in Saxony, Germany and Europe

  5. Establishing and maintaining a cultural network

By these emphases the framework, structures, concepts and contents as well as the personnel (multipliers) and financial (membership, training and licence fees) foundations shall be created for a sustainable education and social work, outlasting the project term.

Realization

Über das Projektbudget wird eine Vollzeitstelle finanziert. Im Gegensatz zu rein ehrenamtlicher Arbeit kann hiermit eine kontinuierliche Konzeptions- und Strukturarbeit gewährleistet werden. Damit ist auch eine langfristige Zusammenarbeit von Ehrenamtlichen, Honorarkräften und Vollzeitbeschäftigten möglich, mit Hilfe derer das Gesamtvorhaben überhaupt erst gelingen kann.

 

Das Gesamtprojekt ist auf viele verschiedene Zielgruppen ausgerichtet, um den Begegnungs- und Integrationscharakter von Go-Angeboten voll ausschöpfen zu können. Entsprechend vielseitig sind auch die einzubindenden Partner aus dem sozialen Sektor, der Politik und Wirtschaft, den Medien sowie Sport und Kultur. Dabei werden Partnerschaften mit Privatpersonen, regionalen Unternehmen und Kommunalpolitikern ebenso gepflegt werden wie Kooperationen mit internationalen Stiftungen, Verbänden und Politikern auf europäischer Ebene.
